Hübschmann represented the Czech Republic at various youth levels and captained his country at the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship. Club

Hubschmann began his career with Sparta but it was while on loan at FK Jablonec 97 in 2000\/01 that he first won rave reviews. The following season he became a regular back in Prague, both domestically and in European games, as his eleven Champions League matches proved.

2002\/03: Hubschmann's assured form helped Sparta regain their league crown - starting 29 games - and, in August 2003, qualify for the 2003\/04 Champions League.
