Clément Chantôme (born 11 September 1987 in Sens) is a French footballer who currently plays for French club Paris Saint-Germain.
Rising through the ranks of PSG's youth academy, he has already drawn comparisons to Didier Deschamps in terms of his determination and ballwinning ability. In spite of being used sparingly by his different PSG coaches, Chantôme is a fan favorite among Parisian followers, because of his homegrown status, his fighting spirit and his fearless attitude on the pitch.
A strong midfield player, he was offered a three year contract by then Paris St. Germain manager Guy Lacombe in September 2006, and has since made consistent appearances in the struggling club's first team.
Of all players likely to hold a long-term future with PSG, Chantôme looks a good chance to retain his spot and develop further into a player of real class. His call-up to France's U\/21 squad in October 2006 is testament to the regard in which he is held by the FFF.
In the past, Arsenal have been said to be interested in securing the youngster's services. Chantôme scored his first goal for PSG on 23 October 2008, in a 1–1 draw against Schalke 04 in the UEFA Cup.
