Defender Benjamin Angoua joined French side Valenciennes in January 2010 and has been moving up through the national ranks since 2005, playing at U-20, U-21 and U-23 level, and most recently saw 94 minutes of action in two FIFA World Cup™ qualifiers. “Playing for my country has been very important in my career, and was the reason I was able to sign for Valenciennes," he said.<\/P>
Before moving to Ligue 1, the former Toumodi player spent four seasons in Hungary with Budapest Honved, where he impressed with his physical strength and adaptability, the same qualities that had won over the Hungarian outfit when he was playing at Africa Sports (2004-06).<\/P>
"I think my aerial game is one of my strong points and I’m quick on the counter attack. I’m a central defender but I can also play on the right wing or as a defensive midfielder,” says Angoua, who also represented his country at the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament Beijing 2008.<\/P>
