And it's been quite a summer for the 20-year-old, who signed a new deal, was part of Team GB's Olympic campaign and then called into the full England squad for the first time for the friendly against Italy in August.

Steven was outstanding during a loan spell at Swansea in the Premier League last season, where he returned from injury to play 26 times.

That followed loans at Yeovil in League One and Bristol City in the Championship in 2010-11, the season he made his full debut here at Spurs in the League Cup tie against Arsenal at the Lane.

He picked up a Football League Young Player of the Month award and earned his first England Under-21 honours during his time at Ashton Gate.

It was without doubt the loan spell at Yeovil during the previous season that gave Steven the platform on which to build what is a promising young career.

Having played one full season for our Under-18s after joining the Club as a scholar in the summer of 2008, Steven joined Yeovil for the 2009-10 season and started 46 games for the Glovers, including 44 of 46 games in League One, picking up the Somerset club's Player of the Year award.

In July, 2010, he represented England at Under-19 level in the European Championships in France, starting every game in the side's progress to the semi-finals of the competition.

He signed his first professional contract at the Club in July 2009 having previously broken into the Under-18s side as an Under-16 player during the 2007-08, progressing to make 31 appearances, scoring one goal, in 2008-09.

He also forced his way into our Reserve side that season, making five appearances, and captained the Under-18s towards the start of the campaign.

Steven attended Lampton School and was Borough champion at 400m for four years in a row.<\/P>","B6B40535701B4CD0DB864915DEF06E2A":"Football League Young Player of the Month<\/STRONG>: November 2010","e_index":5};
