Aaron Frank Mooy is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Scottish Premiership club Celtic and the Australia national team.

Mooy has been fundamental in David Wagner's gegenpressing style of play – bringing an energy and creative use of the ball in a slightly deep-lying midfield role. And it is this position, rather than an advanced role he was more accustomed to for the Australian national team and former club Melbourne, that will enhance Mooy's chances on the pitch.

Born in Sydney, Mooy played youth football for the New South Wales Institute of Sport and Bolton Wanderers before making his professional debut with St Mirren. He returned to Sydney to play for Western Sydney Wanderers in 2012, and moved to Melbourne City two years later. Signing for Manchester City in 2016, Mooy was immediately loaned to Huddersfield Town and helped the club gain promotion to the Premier League. He signed with Huddersfield permanently in June 2017. In January 2020, Mooy was signed permanently by Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion. On 28 August 2020, it was announced that Mooy had signed for Chinese Super League team Shanghai SIPG (now known as Shanghai Port) after activating a £4 million release clause. On 19 July 2022, Mooy joined Celtic on a two-year deal.

Mooy has been capped by the national team on 32 occasions since his debut in 2012, netting a total of five goals. He also played in the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup.<\/P>","3DD52A7123843A0599BD59EBE6AB4E97":"Shanghai Port FC","DAF09C52CF6076BDF21F9C2EFDD9E43065C5B3AC13FF9DA2":"1","E40B4988E6F21D3C":"89848","FD1933E1882D5E7A216F21827D2B22B4":"","31E4B7E841B17C66":"Aaron Frank Mooy","95081CC600C137A3ECD07E1A2BAC6047":"13","6438FCEB8DF4FD6202A461D3835934E5":"Shanghai Port FC,Brighton & Hove Albion,Huddersfield Town,Brighton & Hove Albion[on loan],Manchester City,Huddersfield Town[on loan],Melbourne City,Western Sydney Wanderers,St. Mirren,Bolton Wanderers U23,Bolton Wanderers U18","DF03820F537F8E7C95F8F8605BCB052C":"Netherlands,Australia","e_index":7};
