A fast, confident and adventurous right-back, Zden\u011bk Grygera represented the Czech Republic at both UEFA EURO 2004 and the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He won his 50th cap in Vienna last August shortly after joining Juventus from AFC Ajax.

Started with FC Zlín before making breakthrough at top-division level with FK Drnovice, helping club to third place in 1999\/00.

Joined AC Sparta Praha, where he won two league titles in three seasons and developed into Czech Republic's first-choice right-back, having made debut v Korea Republic in Drnovice.

Scored first international goal in 2-0 win over France in Saint-Denis on 12 February 2003; regular in UEFA EURO 2004 side, but only match he completed in Portugal was semi-final defeat by Greece.

Played from start to finish in all three matches at 2006 World Cup.

Won Eredivisie title in first of four seasons at Ajax; did not play in either of club's Dutch Cup final wins in 2006 and 2007.

First season in Serie A punctuated with injuries but still managed 22 starts for Juve.
