Addo won the first of three caps under Dutch coach Rinus Israel at the 1998 African Cup of Nations in Burkina Faso, but did not play for his country again until recalled by Ratomir Dujkovic on the eve of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™.
Addo moved to Belgium as a talented teenager, playing 60 games in three seasons before moving with coach Eric Gerets to PSV Eindhoven.
Beset by injury in his nine seasons with the Dutch club, he recovered his form this year as PSV romped to the title.
