At international level, he played for the Kosovo national team in 2020 and 2021, before switching his national allegiance to Albania in 2023. Born in Gjilan to a family from a village in Gjilan known as Perlepnica, his family live on the mountainous part of Perlepnica.

In June 2023, Daku obtained the Albanian passport, making him eligible to play for the Albania national team. On 1 September 2023, he received a call-up from Albania for the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Czech Republic and Poland.
