A much-travelled striker, Roland Linz has been happy to change clubs on an almost annual basis. While finding the net frequently at domestic level, the 26-year-old has found goals relatively hard to come by on the international stage but remains a strong prospect to lead the Austria attack at UEFA EURO 2008.

Left hometown club DSV Leoben for FK Austria Wien in 2001.

Remained with the Violets for a second season and won Austrian League\/Cup double but has changed clubs every summer since.

Farmed out on loan to VfB Admira Wacker Mödling, OGC Nice and SK Sturm Graz before returning to Austria Wien and winning another double in 2005\/06 – also shared Bundesliga top-scorer prize with 15 goals.

Moved to Portugal, playing for Boavista FC in 2006\/07 and SC Braga in 2007\/08.

Best international performance to date – 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Poland when he scored twice (his first strikes for the national team) as Austria rallied from 3-0 down; denied hat-trick by crossbar in final minute.
