Comfortable playing either in a defensive role or as an attacking midfielder, Achille Emana cut his teeth in the youth system of Spanish outfit Valencia, though without breaking into the first team. This strong and powerful wide-man, who stands out both for his ability to regain possession and make driving forward runs, spent the majority of his career with Toulouse and it was there he made his name on the European scene.<\/P>
Emana played in the top three divisions in France, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup during his time at Toulouse. The highlight was the 2006\/07 season when Toulouse finished in third place in Ligue 1 with the hard-running midfielder scoring eight goals and providing three assists.<\/P>
In the summer of 2008 he moved to Seville outfit Real Betis, where he became a key figure. But whilst he produced excellent individual performances he was not able to propel the team up the table, and the Andalusian team were relegated at the end of the campaign. Having spent a tough season in Spain’s second tier, South Africa 2010 could offer him a convenient shop window for his considerable talents.<\/P>
