Richard started his career at Tranmere in 1998, where he spent five years at the club before moving to Hull City where he made 40 appearances in two seasons.<\/STRONG>
He moved across the river to Scunthorpe on June 1, 2005 - before which he spent the later parts of the season on loan at the Iron, making six starts and one substitute appearance.
During the 2005\/06 season he has been one of United's most consistent players and surely has a promising future at Glanford Park.
The player is at home in a number of positions, performing at right-back, centre-half and central midfield at one stage or another during the campaign.
