Antoine became one of Paul Le Guen's first signings when he took over at Ibrox and admitted the chance to move to Ibrox was too big to turn down.<\/STRONG><\/P>

The young defender was spotted playing for the Rennes Reserves and showed enough potential at that level for the management team to swoop for his signature.<\/P>

Before joining Gers Ponroy had only featured in friendlies at first team level but views coming to Glasgow as a chance to progress into a top class player.<\/P>

Clearly thrilled at the prospect of working with Le Guen and his coaching team, Ponroy admitted the decision to swap France for Scotland was an easy one.

He said: "When I joined Rennes, Paul had already left for Lyon so that's why hearing from him in May was such a surprise.<\/P>

"Yves Colleu had watched me in the second team and saw something he thought he could work on. <\/P>

"For me there was not a choice between staying at home or going to Rangers and working for the manager.<\/P>

"It has been a wonderful surprise and I will try to get myself into the first team regularly by next season.<\/P>
