Something of a wild card in Leo Beenhakker's squad, 21-year-old Adam Kokoszka is a relative newcomer not only to the national team but also to the Polish domestic league, having made just 21 Ekstraklasa appearances for Wisła Kraków in the last two seasons. A stout, unruffled centre-back, his strength in the air makes him a threat at set-pieces.

Played his first senior game for Wisła Kraków in August 2006 and stood out straight away in a 0-0 draw against Arka Gdynia.

Granted his international debut by Beenhakker – after only a handful of league appearances – in a December 2006 friendly against United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi, which Poland won 5-2.

Scored on his second appearance – against Estonia – and made it two goals in four games when he grabbed the winner in a February 2008 friendly against a Finland B selection in Cyprus.

Won the 2007/08 Polish championship with Wisła Kraków.
