Marc started his playing career as a youngster at Blackburn Rovers before loan spells with Crewe Alexandra, Oldham Athletic, Halifax Town and Swansea City. He joined Northampton Town in June 2003, making 66 first team appearances for the Cobblers and netting 13 goals.

The 23-year-old struggled with a knee injury last season but battled back to full fitness before a successful loan spell with former Reds boss Steve Parkin at Rochdale, hitting two goals in five appearances. He left Northampton last summer.

During his loan spell with Oldham, Marc won international honours for England at U20 level and featured for the Three Lions against Portugal in Southampton in November 2001, featuring in the same side as Reds skipper Paul Reid.

He signed an extended contract in December 2005.

One of the best signings in recent history, Marc went on to smash 12 league goals in his debut season for the Reds to help fire his new side to promotion.
","90579B4DEA63C3E4":"Marc Richards","A494ABC507986833":"Marc Richards","F52748F924D1E675":"81kg","4EB8C1CDD4A86AD4B213AF7FAE87E4FE":"Swindon
;
